Welcome to Gathering Wool, your place for fine felted products. Felt is one of the oldest fabrics around. It is natural, durable and decorative. Felted objects have been discovered perfectly preserved dating back to 600 AD. I'm not talking about those squares of felt that are sold in the kids craft sections, I mean 100% wool that has been through the felting process. The fibers are intertangled forming a dense fabric.
Most of our products are fulled, meaning they have been constructed first and then put through the felting process as seen in the before and after pictures below. Most have needle felted embellishments.

I don't work well with others patterns, my bags are all my own designs and are one of a kind since I always seem to forget to write down what I did.
Our all natural handmade soaps are hand felted. They are covered in wool which felts tightly to the soap. No need for a washcloth or loofa. While soft,the fibers work as a soft scrubbie. The felt shrinks along with the soap and makes your soap last longer too. Your bathroom will smell absolutely delightful and you won't have a gooey mess on the soap dish.
Wool is naturally antibacterial, very rich in lanolin, self cleansing, odor resistant and flame retardant.
